Tara Ellison

Deputy Director

As Third Wave’s Deputy Director, Tara Ellison directs Third Wave’s internal operations, including finance, organizational development, human resources, and administration.

Before coming to Third Wave, Tara served as Public Policy and Government Affairs Assistant at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force in Washington, D.C. She also co-taught and co-created a college class on Third Wave Feminisms in 2002, one of the first of its kind in the nation. Tara is a writer, and is also active in LGBTQ, racial justice, size positive, sex worker, and gender justice activisms.

Tara graduated from George Mason University with a degree in English and Women’s Studies. She serves as Board Co-Chair on the board of NOLOSE, a size positive organization, and also enjoys abstract collaging, baking, and travel.
