As Third Wave’s Director of
External Relations, Sheena is responsible for the fund development strategies, which include the conceptualization and execution of various fundraising and communication approaches. Prior to accepting this position, Sheena served as Development Consultant to Third Wave on two separate occasions and directed the launch of the Why Give Institute in 2006.
Sheena brings more than fifteen years of non-profit management and fundraising experience to her work. She fulfilled Development & Communications positions with the Proteus Fund and Legal Momentum before expanding her Organizational Development reach by serving as an Independent Consultant to numerous community-based, social justice organizations in New York City and Jamaica, W.I.
Sheena embodies a strong commitment to the strategic movement of money to organizations that responsibly fulfill their vision for a fair, just, and vibrant society. Sheena received her degree in Political Science and Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Sheena enjoys travel, snorkeling in the Caribbean, and competitive sports. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
