Kai Gurley is a genderqueer Georgia peach, born and living in Atlanta.
Unlike Michael Jackson, Kai is both a lover and a fighter, and is particularly passionate about three things: doing anti-racism work in Southern queer community, de-constructing gender in Feminist community, and sweet tea. In a parallel universe, Kai is the host of a TV show called “Queer Eye for the Activist-Type,” in which Kai helps social justice activists discover their inner-fabulousness through fashion and hair care products.
Kai is currently the Development Coordinator at the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective, and has been with SisterSong since 2005. Kai graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University in 2001 with a BS in Interdisciplinary Social Science, focusing primarily on Sociology and Political Science.
