Andrea Flynn is a 27-year old who was born and raised in a small-town, middle-class community in Massachusetts.
She is committed to the political, economic, and social equity and advancement of young women and has spent the last five years working with organizations committed to these goals. She is excited to be a new member of Third Wave’s board.
Andrea currently consults full time for Women Moving Millions – an Initiative launched by Helen LaKelly Hunt, Swanee Hunt and the Women’s Funding Network to encourage women donors to give at the $1M and above to women’s foundations. Andrea is the co-founder and co-chair of the Supporting Women Artists Project (SWAP), a Brooklyn-based non-profit organization that provides free studio space to women artists in exchange for their mentoring public school students who do not have access to art education.
Prior to her current position, Andrea managed the Women’s Leadership Board – a board of 130 women donors at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She has also spent time working with Women’s eNews and the Center for Work Life Policy in New York City. She has received degrees in women’s studies and journalism from Syracuse University and hopes to continue her education in feminist studies both inside and outside of academia.
